Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Welcome to WhoDrew.io. By accessing or using our game service, websites, and associated features, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not access or use the platform.
1. Overview & Service Description
WhoDrew.io is a free, web-based real-time multiplayer drawing and social deduction party game. Players can create private rooms, join public matchmaking games, submit canvas strokes in real time, communicate via room chat, and deduce player roles. The service is provided directly via web browser without requiring software downloads or account registrations.
Computer-controlled players: To keep public matchmaking playable when few people are online, public games may include computer-controlled players. They are not counted in any player numbers we show. Some of their drawings are based on the Google Quick, Draw! dataset (CC BY 4.0).
2. User Code of Conduct & Fair Play
WhoDrew.io is dedicated to maintaining a fun, welcoming, and safe environment for players worldwide. By participating in games, you agree to adhere to the following standards:
- No Hate Speech or Explicit Content: You will not submit profane, racist, sexist, obscene, abusive, or harassing drawings, display names, or chat messages.
- Fair Play & Non-Exploitation: You will not use third-party automation tools, bots, hacks, memory scanners, or packet manipulators to interfere with game turns, timers, or score calculations.
- No Impersonation or Griefing: You will not pretend to be another player, streamer, or WhoDrew.io administrator, nor deliberately disrupt gameplay for other participants.
- Network Integrity: You will not attempt to DDoS, spam, flood Socket.IO communication channels, or overload the server infrastructure.
3. Intellectual Property, Anti-Scraping & User Content
You retain full intellectual ownership of original sketches and artwork you create during gameplay. By drawing on WhoDrew.io:
- You grant WhoDrew.io a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display and transmit your drawing strokes in real time to connected peers in your room for gameplay and replay purposes.
- Drawings are not sold to third parties. For public matchmaking games, the finished drawing and the secret word may be saved for up to 14 days and featured, without any player names, in WhoDrew.io posts on social media (such as Discord and Telegram). To have a featured drawing removed, contact us and we will take it down.
- The WhoDrew.io name, logo, custom code, sound effects, visual design, and branding are the exclusive property of WhoDrew.io and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
3.1 Restrictions on AI Scraping, Reverse Engineering & Cloning
Except for standard public search engines (such as Google or Bing) crawling solely for the purpose of creating publicly searchable web search indices in compliance with robots.txt, you may not: (a) copy, modify, distribute, reproduce, or create derivative works of the WhoDrew.io source code, frontend scripts, networking protocol, game logic, or proprietary visual doodle assets; (b) use automated crawlers, scrapers, data-mining scripts, or AI model training engines to extract game assets, word banks, or code; (c) reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or host unauthorized mirrors, forks, or clones of WhoDrew.io. Any violation is subject to immediate access termination, hosting provider DMCA takedowns, and statutory legal claims under applicable copyright law.
4. Room Management & Session Inactivity
To maintain high server responsiveness and conserve resources:
- Game rooms with no active players are automatically marked abandoned and purged within 2 minutes.
- Rooms with prolonged inactivity (longer than 15 minutes without activity) are automatically closed.
- We reserve the right to disconnect or rate-limit clients that exceed reasonable message thresholds.
5. Privacy & Data Handling
We do not require user accounts, passwords, or credit card information. Transient gameplay data (such as temporary nicknames and reconnection session tokens) is stored only for active game sessions. For complete details on our data protection practices, please review our Privacy Policy.
6. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
WhoDrew.io is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. While we strive to maintain uninterrupted service:
- We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free, completely secure, or free from server outages.
- In no event shall WhoDrew.io, its developers, or its hosts be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your access to or inability to use the game.
7. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to revise or update these Terms & Conditions periodically. Any updates will take effect immediately upon posting to this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of WhoDrew.io following any modifications constitutes your formal acceptance of the revised terms.
